The Global Groundwater Monitoring Network (GGMN)

The Global Groundwater Monitoring Network (GGMN) is a collaborative initiative that collects and shares groundwater monitoring data, including groundwater levels, quality parameters, and other relevant data and metadata from national and sub-national authorities. The GGMN aims to provide reliable, comprehensive data to support groundwater research and enhance our understanding of global groundwater resources.

The network is not exhaustive and currently includes only data that countries are openly sharing. It is constantly evolving, with new data added regularly as they become available.

We sincerely thank the national and sub-national authorities, such as geological surveys, Ministries of Water, Environment, and Public Works, water boards, hydrological services, and others, for generously sharing their in-situ data with us. If you believe your institution could contribute to our network, please contact us at info@un-igrac.org.

Most of the GGMN data is open and available under the CC BY 4.0 licence. Please refer to the readme file for specific details when downloading.

Disclaimer: IGRAC does not own the original data and makes no guarantees regarding its accuracy or completeness. IGRAC assumes no responsibility or liability for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages or losses arising from the use of the information contained in the GGMN/GGIS.
